In
the heart of Chianti , the Antica Enoteca Caffè le Logge faces onto
the historic piazza, famous for its asymmetrical shape. In fact it was Lorenzo
de’ Medici, known as “Il Magnifico”, who in one of his
poems praised the beauty of the piazza, stating, “ I went to Greve
to the market”. |
The
Grand-Duke of Tuscany, Piero Leopoldo I of Lorraine, fondly referred to
by his subjects as “Canapone”, also boasted about having visited
the piazza, declaring” In the piazza of Greve there is “CASA
CIVILI” that is the strongest”. Still today , the Antica Enoteca
Caffè le Logge carries on its century-old oenogastronomical tradition
with selected wines, and prized cuts of beef of the “Chianina”
breed. |
Its
assortment of cheeses, salamis, hams and game sausages is always available
for satisfying wines. Besides the typical great Toscani wines, you can also
taste 30 national reds and whites,as dinner in the garden facing the piazza
, and only for dinner by reservation in late autumn and winter. |
Caffè le Logge also organises interesting dinner “on a theme”
with important wineries throughout Italy, by reservation only. |
